      I have never been through a hurricane, living all my life where I am. But for those that have, are hurricane winds strong enough to blow away Pritzker? You know, lots of surface area and all. Just wondering...

        Probably not. But I'll bet a strong one could drive a piece of straw through him. Maybe not all the way through since I don't think straw grows that long. But pretty far into him.

          Been through plenty of Hurricanes...A few observations on Hurricanes;

          1. When all is said and done, more will be said than done. Generally...
          2. Every so often, one is BAD
          3. Power goes out, no big deal especially if you have a generator. Water gets knocked out (1979 Hurricane Frederick hit us in S. Alabama, water was out for 2 weeks) and it's a BIG DAMN DEAL.
          4. Tree limbs, leaves, debris etc is always a problem. Clean-up is time and money. Limbs can break windows, doors, cars, etc. Its the little things...
          5. In my lifetime, modern hurricane tracking data is a God-Send! Unfortunately, Weather Channel Drama seems to take precedence over Facts. Skip the drama if you can, Jim Cantore and Steph Abrams need to just report the FACTUAL DATA.

          My 2 cents...

              I have been through more than my fair share of Hurricanes as well and I can confirm your observations.

              As to number 5 and the drama, I mean really? How many times do we have to watch some idiot dressed in a rain suit standing on the beach telling us it's raining and windy? No fucking shit Sherlock. Give us the facts, like projected rain totals, wind speed, how far out do the winds extend, the path and speed.

                Still, no thank you for hurricane zones. I'll stick with Hellinois record breaking 208 confirmed tornadoes this year.

                  Not sure which is worse. I went through a tornado once in Wisconsin Tornado's can have higher winds and are more unpredictable, you don't know exactly when or where. Hurricanes you pretty much know they are coming and where they are going, but they last longer and can have more wide spread damage and flooding. .
