Well shit! I have been working my whole life to solve the Navier–Stokes problem and here AI did it for me. I am pissed. There goes my Pulitzer prize.

Very interesting read, and yes, I did read it all. Thanks!

One question I have is how much energy was consumed during this process of discovery - compared to say, powering a city of a million people for 24 hours.

      Curious minds want to know.

Meerkat explains the whole thing almost perfectly. Always trust Meerkat (even though he is most likely generated by the same AI he is railing against).

This reminds me of a ponzi scheme... Only without any payout.

What is your guess will happen when the Piper comes to collect in '27? Not to us individually , but just in general.

Credit will freeze up. First for the speculative companies, but it will quickly spread into all credit markets. Draw your own conclusions from that as far as what happens to the broader economy. But it's going to get ugly I expect.

P.S. When it happens, don't pay attention to your brokerage accounts, commodity prices (especially gold and silver), property values, etc. Looking at the numeric values will be depressing when everybody is selling everything they can to cover the margin calls.

Being from Houston I know all about the Enron scam. I remember when the glass towers were built downtown. A lot of people got hurt when Enron hit the wall.

Now, Meerkat is saying Joe Blow wont get hurt when these AI companies hit their wall in 27 because he has no skin in the game. But I have to wonder if these AI companies would be deemed "To big to fail" by our government, who already has a big stake in the game, and sees the need to bail them out. That puts the taxpayer in the game when he never even sat down at the table. It will be interesting to see where this all shakes out. I have been watching and reading a lot of stuff on AI and there seems to be a lot of the blame game going on. Click image for larger version Name:	Blame game.jpg Views:	0 Size:	40.4 KB ID:	6846
It's hard to figure out who to believe but I still fall on the idea that it's not necessarily AI that is, or will be the problem, It's the people who control it that will be the real problem. And now the scary part is the government has it's hands in it.

Wow. Bailout. Good catch, babe. Not sure how it could happen, though, as the companies are bigger than the gov. Then again, the laws they're trying to get in place now to keep the little guys out make sense.

This is a circus at the Ringling level.
