Two days ago or three, one chest freezer shit the bed, caught it the night before last.
Transfered all the expensive stuff to the others, put out the remainer for the local critters.
Had 10 2-1/2 pound jars of Wally and Skippy peanut butter in the bottom of the freezer.
Looked online at AI thoughts on the condition and edible factor.
AI said the oil and stuff would have seperated from freezing, loosing its homoginization, but was still OK to eat, bio wise,
although questionable tase wise.
Well, I opened one jar of smooth texture for a taste test, this would detirmine if it would go to dump or not.
To my surprise it was like it just came from the store, texture was perfect, nothing had seperated that I could detect.
None had ever been opened before today.
All the jars had been at 20 F below since 2011, 15 YEARS!!!!
They (jars)are going into the new freezer today after it gets put in later.
What bothered me was that the cans of heirloom seed also stored in there had thawed out.
They are also going back into the new freezer, ASAP.
