Just what the hell are we getting out of this? Are we getting any oil for compensation on all the treasure we expended on this disaster? Sounds like America gets an ass-reaming from Iran if we don't.

I saw a commenter on a podcast state the following- "The American People no longer have the appetite, gumption, or wherewithal to actually WIN a war. We can't stomach what it takes to WIN. The politicians will only go as far as the People will stand, and that ain't much. There is your problem.During WW2 we inflicted tremendous suffering on the civilians of both Germany and Japan by bombing the shit out of em. But we won with unconditional surrender. The exact same should have applied here. These half measures and unwillingness to inflict pain on the normal citizens is gonna come back and bite us in the toosh.👍 4☕ 2Comment

You and I get nothing . . . our children or grandchildren get to grow up without the nuclear threat from Iran.
If that is not good enough for you . . . planes leave every day for Iran . . . don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Dwight! If you think the nuclear threat from Iran is over, you are seriously mistaken. As long as the crazies are in charge, they will continue to persist in developing, or buying, a bomb. This whole fiasco now is delaying their bomb, but they will still continue, one way or another. The only way to prevent this is by regime change and Trump didn’t finish the job.
And you my friend are a major pain in the ass. Several times now you have told folks here (folks that have expressed an opinion that you don’t like) that if they don’t “like it”, they should leave. Who died and left you in charge? You are certainly entitled to your strong opinions, but trust me dude. You have a very NARROW view of the world.👍 3Comment

I suppose if you had ever had any sort of military training you may understand the situation . . . but either you didn't . . . or peeled potatoes for your enlistment .
Trump destroyed the airforce . . . navy . . . leadership . . . and basically all of their early warning devices . . . as well as their nuclear capability for now.
The only thing left standing is their basic AK47 army . . . a few tanks . . . trucks . . . etc. More stupid or ignorant folks would have destroyed them as well . . . and opened the door for invasion by everyone around there who wanted a part of what was left . . . making the middle east a full scale swamp pit of war which would not end for decades.
Your "wide view" of the world is the Biden / Obama / Harris view . . . dumber than a box of rocks kicked over twice in a mud hole.
A view that will produce results on a grand scale is always the George Patton view . . . set on a single reticle telescope . . . looking at the target and not being dissuaded by the fluff on either side.
It is the art of the deal that works . . . and obviously you disunderstand that as well . . . is that you decide the outcome you want . . . and you go for it. Trump did not make his money by insider trading as a president or congressperson . . . he made it by knowing what was needed . . . and willing to work for it. This is another deal . . . one that has not been concluded yet.
He's doing that now . . . and has done more for the protection of this country than any politician since Truman, Eisenhower, and JFK. But again . . . you and your vassals either don't understand it or are willing to sell the whole thing out for lower egg and gasoline prices.
You can have both in China . . . and won't have to worry about Trump.

Military training, hmmmm let’s see. Iwas appointed to a federal military academy by my congressman in 1969. I graduated from the USMMA in 1973 with honors. Held a commision as an officer in the USNR for 5 years. Honorable discharge. Then 28 years sailing in the US merchant marine, most as CE. That’s not military but I did serve a stint on a US navy oiler doing unrep in the med. I was there when our carrier planes downed the Libian jets. I’ve also done a few activations of ready reserve ships being called up out of the mothballed fleet to go to war. I have a decent understanding of naval operations and logistics. So does that qualify as military training? Or do you still consider me as a know-nothing dumbass? So lets compare your military training to mine, shall we?

Me? A Biden suporter? Jeez dude are you wrong! My politics are right of Attila the hun. I’ve never voted for a democrat in my life.
I’m merely pointing out that you seem to have zero tolerance for any other viewpoint than your own and you seem to have a very narrow viewpoint. And your “my way or the highway” attitude is tiresome.
And that’s twice now you’ve told me to go to China. Your memory must be failing as I’ve told you before I’ve already visited there. (No desire to go back) I’ve traveled to many many countries . Maybe that’s why I have a little wider, more experienced world viewpoint than you.
oh! By the way, thank you for your service. Sincerely.Last edited by Chiefster23; 06-27-2026, 04:54 PM.😀 3👍 1Comment

I have to say Dwight, I take offense to your view that if one did not serve in the military he has no right to an opinion on military matters, or politics for that matter. Approximately 6% of the US population are living veterans. Active duty accounts for less than 1%. (I looked it up) So, by your reckoning, roughly 94% of the population are dumber than a box of rocks? That's a pretty narrow one way street your on. You may want to try and be a little more tolerant of peoples opinions Dwight. After all, us mere civilians have contributed on occasion to this great nation as well.
Just to clarify, I too do not agree with Trumps handling of the Iran situation. I think any deal made with them is naive, foolish and will come to nothing. That's the beauty of living in America, even though I voted for the man I don't have to agree and blindly follow everything he says without question. Then again, I didn't serve in the military so I guess I should pack my opinions up and head for China. Oh, and I'll be sure not to let the door hit me where the good lord split me.
Thank you for your service, as always.Last edited by Texas PO; 06-29-2026, 05:19 AM.

Well it looks like we hit about 10 strategic targets in response to the drone attack from Iran against the Singapore flagged vessel. I still stand by my earlier post on page 2 where I think Trump offered them a sweetheart deal to straighten up and fly right, knowing they can't / won't, and that we will be right up their ass again.
And I agree with PO about being able to have an opinion about the world without having served.Politicians can kiss my ass!!!👍 4Comment

I just hope Trump quits messing around and just finishes the job. No half measures. All-out bomb the shit out if em. Turn out their lights……… period. I think Donald fancies himself as some great peacemaker or a military genius. He is neither!
Looks like Oman is sneaking around and trying to join in on collecting tolls with Iran. Yet another Arab country stabbing us in the back.👍 3Comment

No . . . he is not a peacemaker . . . nor a military genius . . . but again . . . like George Patton . . . he has his sight set on an outcome . . . and "dealing" is the only way that outcome will come about.
His back has been stabbed more here in the US by those crying over gas prices and egg prices . . . than all those on the other side of the pond.
He has taken the time to listen to his military leaders . . . all in the same room . . . and there has been none of the Montgomery VS Patton type strutting and dealing . . . the Navy and the Air Force have done an excellent job . . .
He has been very careful to keep any casualties at a minimum . . .
Unlike Obama / Clinton (s) / Biden / Johnson and a few others . . . he didn't go off half cocked . . . he got the proper information . . . looked at the proper steps . . . weighed the balances and did what he did the right way.
Yes . . . it is a pain in the rear end . . . the money we have spent . . . but the mullahs only recognize power / authority / and a gun muzzle in their faces. They have been getting all three from our government . . . headed by Trump . . . and has done a job equivalent to Truman in my estimation.
Folks who have never served in the military . . . have no concept of war and it's troubles . . . they see John Wayne riding off into the sunset . . . thinking that is all there is to it.
May God bless,
Dwight

Might be a little more strategic than you know.Well it looks like we hit about 10 strategic targets in response to the drone attack from Iran against the Singapore flagged vessel. Ya'll pull up a chair, let mama tell you a story.
*******
About the second week of March, Pete said to Donnie, "Sir? We're kinda running out of targets here, the rats have crawled into their holes, and we know there's more missiles and stuff down deep, but we can't get at it. What do you want to do?"
Donnie says, "We need to find a way to get 'em out of their holes. I've been thinking on this , and here's my idea -
Pete listens...
" They won't come out until they feel it's safe to do so. The first thing we're going to do is stop bombing. We can use Let's Make a Deal for the reason. In time, and it might take a while, they'll feel comfortable enough to come out and try to regroup. Well, they only have one thing worth defending, and that's the Strait of Hormuz. The first thing they'll do is close it up, it's the only thing theyll have for leverage in negotiations.
Pete says "Okay so what happens then?"
"Then we wait. I keep playing the Deal game, they can keep delaying, which is fine cause everybody knows there'll never be a Deal they'll keep to anyway. We just need for them to move their arms out of those rat holes and down to defend their precious Strait..."
"Right... How long will it take?"
" Three or four months, maybe? Doesn't matter. We'll be watching, we'll know where they're moved to, and when the time is right, when it looks like most of it is there... - you know they'll do something that enable us to take care of it.
***********
Guess what those ten strategic targets were.
Prove me wrong.

The other issue, I may or may not be qualified to speak to this, but I will anyways, is how does the IGRC or any other militant group get their technology and infrastructure for all of their weapon and defense systems, drones, navy ships, etc. I only see two ways, either they develop their own technology and have a manufacturing base, or they have the financial ability to buy it from other countries. I'm guessing in Iran's case it is more of the second one. So even if we did destroy their assets for the most part, how does the world keep them from going shopping and building everything back up?
If we could, and maybe we can, somehow completely cut off most of the money flowing to Iran to financially starve them, that creates a humanitarian crisis. Even if we don't give a shit, I'd bet other countries would come to their aid and the IGRC would still be using that money to build up a new defense / offense system.Politicians can kiss my ass!!!☕ 1Comment
