    Great food or s**t

So do you feed this to your dog or pick it up with a shovel?

Wouldn't feed anything that cost $24lb to a dog. Could feed it real steak for that price and have leftovers for yourself!

I was at the checkout at Ace hardware the other day, had bins with different flavored jerky treats, one of those impulse buy setups, they looked really good, they were for dogs. Well crap, good enough for a dog, good enough for me! Kidding, they did look like people food tho. C'mon, how bad could they be?

I used to buy plain jane white rawhide chews for our dog, store ran out so got the flavored kind, after having those, tried going back to the plain jane kind, he'd give me the , what kind of shit are you trying to pull on me, look.

My dogs get a smoked lambs ear every morning after their breakfast kibble. Once that pattern was established it was set in stone. Less greasy than pigs ears, not all chemical soaked like rawhides. Both dogs are ten years old and have never needed a dental cleaning because of the daily lambs ears. They do get premium USA harvested and processed ones - no imports for them.

Ya know what, growing up it seems like we never bought "store bought dog food food" , they ate our leftovers and loved it. After my last dog passed, who ate store bought for the most part, I feel bad I didn't feed him better. Meaning food tasting so good he almost couldn't gulp down fast enough vs food he'd eat cause his belly was making noises. Hindsight to our best friends.

I split the difference. Duke gets good dog food, dry; his bowl is always full - and I'll top it off with bits from our dinner and he learned early not to beg at the table. I also share my sandwiches with him when PO ain't watching, lol, and popcorn is fun.

T-Dog 1066 eats dry food, table scraps, T-Cat 1066's treats, and sometimes even tries to eat T-Cat 1066.

T-Cat 1066 does NOT approve of this practice. Click image for larger version Name:	KAT.jpg Views:	0 Size:	56.2 KB ID:	5898

I love how the manufactures try to make it sound so appealing. Like the dog is going to know the difference between slow roasted beef or steam pressed shit. I have watched my dog eat bugs, chew on a snake, and a mole. Hell he even ate a couple wasps as they stung his tongue. Now there is a dog of discerning taste for ya.

Our old T-Dog 1066 used to love dining on goat shit. I'd say no Scruffy, them are not treats. Scruffy said NOM NOM NOM!!!

Yeah, my Pit loves to dine on the goat coco puffs. The other two aren't interested at all.

My one dog considers rabbit poop a treat, but she eats her own also if she gets a chance. I'll stick a long handled shovel down and flip it into the pasture behind the house, and she spins around looking for it... The other dog has no interest in poop of any kind, she eats the dog food we give her, and while she finds the smells from the kitchen interesting, she never begs;; then again, she's never been given table food

That strikes me as a liitle bit weird for a dog, but if they never tasted better I can understand it. Kinda like folks in others countires that have NEVER known TRUE freedom, and we are losing it day by day. They didn't know what their missing.

Exactly why we never gave her table food. A friend had a dog that would beg incessantly. They always fed him from the table. 1+1=2

College days, housemates and I, shared a house with a cat and a dog. Dog would leave the living room and go to the room w/cat'slitter box. He'd return chewing on something "crunchy", "kitty crunchys"! E.g. litter coated cat turds.

Same dog was very affectionate; he liked to lick peoples faces. We encouraged that in some of our less welcome guests......

The reason dogs sniff each others butt is to decide if they like what they smell and stick around for dinner.

Yes, I've got a sick mind.
