    Long time

Sorry I haven't been in awhile. Its been a busy year. I forget the last I was in for a visit. We got a lot done over the summer. We put 32 ton of stone on the dam and the edges of the dam. Planted 81 trees. 80Thuja Green Giants and 1 maple. The green giants are for privacy and to help with duct from the road. This is year 4 of having the pond and the first time its ever been full in August and September. Lots of flooding around us over the last few weeks. Over 2 1/2' of rain since 12 am Sunday. Pond overflow is running again. I will try to get some pictures posted soon. No gardening to speak of. I did make 50 jars of blackberry jam and some Cowboy candy from Jalapenos I bought. I will try by best to get caught up on what everyone is doing and posting in the next few days. Really nice to be back. I've really missed OTP!

Good to see you again! Are the Green Giants those fast growing Japanese trees? How long do they take to get to an appropriate height?

Well to tell you the truth I don't know exactly how fast they grow, I planted some in 2021 so 5 years ago. They were about 3. tall. Now there well over 12' at least but I've never measured. They have almost grew together an the bottoms. I will try to get a pic soon to show you. I planted the new batch a little different

I love Cowboy Candy! I get it from the local farm out on the main hwy. Welcome back. You sound like you were busy.

Wow that is going to be really nice! I hope you had a crew to put them in, that's a LOT of work.

It was a total of 4 of us planting. Myself, wife, son and daughter. It was extremely hot when we planted. I went out early and dug as many holes as I could based on how many I thought we could plant later in the day.

Here is a pic of the Thuja Green Giants we planted in 2021. I don't know the exact height but for reference that windmill is 24'. There are 40 in the row on the property line. Last year we put 3 strands of lights on each one.
