Usually here in Central Ohio . . . goldenrod doesn't kick in till about the 12th or 15th of September.
That makes for a decent high 70's day to rob the bees.
My 5 acre field had a couple blooms last thursday or so . . . by Sunday . . . it was a forest of yellow . . . soooooooooooo . . . today at 90 degrees . . . donned the bee suit junk . . . headed out the door.
Both hives were full and overflowing up in my super . . . they had little globs of honey all over the place.
I got 20 frames of really light honey . . . and we'll just hope we got it before they tinted it with the goldenrod.
Will find out later tonight or early tomorrow.
Basically everything I was wearing got soaked . . .
But at 81 yrs old . . . checked the blood pressure . . . 108 over 80 with a 150 pulse . . . 20 minutes after I came in.
Think I'll have honey and biscuits for breakfast tomorrow.
