Pie plant is good

My favorite "thing" to eat . . . pie . . . and most any kind.

Cherry and apple are the favorites of course . . . but sometimes we do something different.

Baked a rhubarb pie last night so I could have pie for breakfast. AND . . . it was yum

Down home . . . just about all the old folks looked forward to that first crop of "pie plant" . . . so they could get their first one of the season.

If you've never tried it . . . you've missed out.

Dang, that looks tasty! Note to self: If I move again, move somewhere close to Dwights pie making factory. I grew up eating tons of rhubarb (mostly raw with some salt) and my mother made great tasty pies from it. I tried to grow some rhubarb here at my new house and it just wouldn't take off. I may try again next year.

When I bought my first house, there was rhubarb growing in the back yard. My T-Grandma 1066 would come and pick it, make pies, and I always got one. She was a legit southern belle from Possum Grape, Ark, and knew her way around a kitchen. I miss her...
