WW 3 aeril battle that we won

Today there was an ariel battle that went on here.

The subject being attacked was an 81 yr old . . . affectionately known in wildlife circles as a destroyer. He kills, strings up, guts, skins . . . then cooks and eats the prey.

But today it wasn't any big game that was in the battle . . . it was about 15 or twenty dive bombers and another 15 or twenty strafers . . . and when the destroyer dealt with them . . . those flying top cover also came in.

It'll be tough to put flags on the side of my vessel for each one . . . someone may thing I was bragging.

But somehow I angered a batch of honey bees . . . they came at me with their little sting sting thingys on full throttle. The ER nurse went and found a pair of tweezers . . . pulled out 5 I know of . . . and that was just in my forehead above my left eye . . .

I have no idea of how many I killed . . . but they ran me off my zero turn and I fought em for about 25 yds . . . got free . . . started to walk away . . . remembered the mower was running . . . went back to turn it off . . . here they came again.

Spent 5 hours in ER . . . after a taxi ride the 911 wagon.

Will put on the bee suit tomorrow when I go to rescue the mower.

Your prayers are humbly requested . . . my face is killing me.

    May God bless,
    Dwight

Good grief Charlie Brown. You had one job, don't get your hind end whooped up by bees...

Yea, I got whack-a-moled by a bunch of pissed off wasps about 15 years ago working on a corn planter.

Brother it sucks... baking soda and water as a paste may help...

Yikes! Hope you're feeling better soon Dwight.

I didn't know you could piss off honeybees. Vince and I kept honey bees in our back yard for years. My garden was right next to them, and I'd be out there every day hoeing or whatnot and they would just fly around me dozens at a time.

Might be my gentle aura or scintillating personality... or maybe I just need to bathe more often LOL.

Man! I hope you feel better soon!

Maybe it is the sound of the engine on the mower or the smell? Last year some kind of bees had built a hive in one of the trees along the back of our property. I have to weed whack the area because I cannot get the tractor back there. Those bees went absolutely CRAZY when I went down there with the weed whacker! (I did not get stung but it wasn't for lack of trying.) They leave us alone when we walk down there, but bring any motorized thing near them... Look out!!!

Yeah . . . that is the problem. I have mowed in front of that particular hive for this being the 3rd year . . . never a problem. I know that the bees there today were not there 6 weeks ago . . . but nobody taught them to be nasty . . . they just took it on themselves. I took my weed eater over there today (still in by bee suit that I used while mowing over there) . . . and they really went nuts with tit there. My quad was running behind me so I could make a quick escape when the week whacking was done . . . and I did. Bet there were 50 trying to get me . . . but my handy dandy bee suit foiled their plans.

If it were up to me we would develop a weapon that would horribly kill every bee, wasp, hornet, and muslim on the planet. But that's just me.

Leave the bees . . . they polinate the local clover so I get beef . . . and the corn . . . so I get eggs and pork . . . but I'll help if you want to start on the rest of them . . . especially that scum you mentioned last.

With me the Arabs would be added to that "Kill on Sight" list. I have a thick stand of Hollyhocks and the honey bees are all over the flowers on them. They haven't bothered me yet. That's a good thing, because I can't run anymore.

I can't run that fast anymore myself. That's why I am cautious. I kill them when and where I see them Wasps are easier to deal with but hornets can swarm you by the thousands, especially the ones in the ground.

That's what I thought . . . when I got to the ER . . . one of the results on the blood sample proved that I really did over work the old ticker. Probably the fastest any 81 year old did the 100 the other day.

We had a swarm of ground hornets invade at the foot of a tree by our back fence a couple of years ago. They swarmed the guy weed whacking there and he told me. As you can imagine MG didn't want me going anywhere near them given her past experience. I was planning a nighttime attack but thought better of it and called in an exterminator. I don't know what he used but he killed their asses dead. I now spray heavily all the trees on the cleared acreage, the eves of the house, and the outbuildings at least twice year. I get the bees, they pollinate, but I don't see any reason Hornets, Wasps and yes, Muslims, should exists on this planet, or any other freakin place in the universe as far as I am concerned.

I had encounters with some type of bees trying make a home under the siding, thought I'd be the smart guy and go out a night to seal up the cracks. Nope, some never sleep, came right at the light I was holding and stung my hands many times, swelled up pretty good. Later got smart and put a red filter on the flashlight. they never knew I was there. I never realized they could see white light but not red light. Coulple of spray downs at nite and they were gone. Dirty bastards. Seems like I've posted this before, who cares, I'm an old fart.

You made a very common mistake . . . . one I pesonally witnessed as a lad. My uncle wanted bees . . . bought some somewhere . . . set em up . . . decided to rob them on Labor Day weekend.

He reasoned that 9 PM would be a good time as they would be asleep . . . he could rob and run . . .

WRONG !!! They were all at home . . . watching their summer harvest . . . and did not want to share with any of those giant bugs without wings who walked upright. My uncle and his oldest boy . . . Philip . . . did the "deed" . . . and believe you me . . . they paid for it.

Me and his next son . . . both around 12 yrs old . . . stood off at maybe 8 ft . . . Tee shirt and jeans . . . never got one sting . . . watching the show. My uncle and Philip both got ate alive . . . they didn't know how to suit up . . . only had head covering . . . .

But as I recall . . . the honey was good.

I suit up on generally a nice warm and sunny day . . . more sun the better . . . usually early afternoon . . . always approach the hive from the North . . . got my smoker going great guns . . . and I'm not there for any extra time. Half if not more of the crew are out foraging . . . wanting to get the place fixed as "full" for winter . . . so I don't have a bunch of soldier bees to mess with me.

I've robbed em multiple years . . . never one sting . . . actually didn't get my first sting until I had had them for the 3rd year IIRC.

But I'm glad you learned the red light trick . . . most never catch that either.

                  May God bless,
                  Dwight

                  Well . . . 7, 8, or maybe 9 generations ago . . . they came into Virginia . . . Webb is the name . . .
