You Now Have To Lock Your Microwave

So we had to get a new microwave, and this stupid thing comes with an automatic locking system. Meaning, put your food in, heat it, THEN you have to hit the unlock button, then you can hit the open button to get your food out. Is this some type of new CA thing or have any of you seen this in your state?

It's a pain in the ass extra step I'm sure designed by someone to save us from ourselves.

Nancy Pelosi and AOC complained that folks were undercooking their food . . . they were convinced someone would get sick . . .

          Need I say more???

          May God bless,
          Dwight

PS: AOC (you do know of course) is the primary reason the directions on the shampoo bottle says it is not for drinking . . . and to "Apply . . . rub vigorously . . . rinse . . . repeat as needed"

My latest microwave ( bought two years ago ) has that stupid feature. There is a key sequence to disable it, but every time there is a power outage you have to enter it again. I have it taped to the side of the microwave.

Never heard such a thing, but something that idiotic has to be a California thing.

They have stickers on car batteries that advise you to not drink the contents.

I think it is in the car owner's manual as well.

*Putting this here bc I didn't want to start a new thread*

                    I was triumphant!

My pellet smoker took a dump. Turns out the auger got clogged up. But I kicked its ass and can now resume smoking.

                    Yay me!

Yeah but I figured that section was for actual smoking rather than bitching about it.

I do have a charcoal barrel smoker but it's small.

I don't own or use microwaves but that is ridiculous! I don't understand the reason for it. It can't be to protect the kids. Kids are smart AF these days. They can remember complex key sequences that us old farts would never have a clue about.

Hell, I still step back 4 or 5 feet from a running microwave...

Truth be told about the only time I use it is to warm up a cup of coffee that I drank too slow, or on a hot grill-a-steak night I will microwave a potato instead of firing up the oven.

I got a good RF burn in the palm of my right hand about 53 years ago, it still hurts like hell at times.

A tech was working on a weather radar set in a plane I was near, watching something else going on.

They were doing an annual on my plane right next to it .

The antenna was off the nose of the plane.

I just happen to lean over and put my hand over the end of the waveguide,

It took about 5-10 seconds ? before I felt a burning sensation.

It was unlike grabbing hot steel, my brain may have said hot, but not like any other hot, confused at first.

I went into the head and put my hand under the cold water, did not do much good attenuating the pain.

There is a lump in the middle of the palm about the size of of a BB (.177 cal.).

Every so often it hurts like hell, I like to think it starts acting up when raining out, but, sometimes not.

I DO NOT STAND IN FRONT of my microwave!

I think Newsom is just trying to protect the people of California. He is figuring anyone stupid enough to elect him has to be protected from putting their heads in the microwave and hitting the start button. Anyone dumb enough to elect him must be protected.
