Watched this last night and it was great. Lot's of stuff I didn't know about Paul Revere, but more than that it's full of context that most don't know about what lead up to the war with the British and how, if these unsung heroes didn't do what they did, we most likely would've lost. Very interesting stuff.

Here's a book I found that seems very interesting. I'm gonna read it or buy the audio book. The name is Adventures of James Caspen Adams: Mountaineer and Grizzly Bear Hunter of California.

I love American history, not just getting our Independence, stuff like Lewis & Clark expedition blows me away. Nobody that they knew of had ever been where they were going, so wtf, let's go check it out!
They had their priorities in order, I think as far as supplies they never ran out of ammo, booze, tobacco and some other stuff. Dudes had some gonads.
In a weird sort of way reminds me of cruising with my friends when I first got my DL, come to a crossroad and someone would say, where does that go, I dunna know, let's find out.
At that time really got off on going where I never been before. Memories.

We used to do the same thing. Mostly country roads. Living on the Illinois side of the Cheddar Curtain, we are real nice and flat like land should be. No mountains, etc. So most of our roads are reasonably straight, so as long as we kept track of general direction, we would just drive until we hit something we recognize, then find our way back home.

I don't know how youngins in the hill / mountain areas could figure out where they were going without a map. Them roads only go straight for about 200 ft before the next curve...
