    Mower Blades

I just wanted to share with everyone . . . one of those "ah ha" moments I had this year.

    25 years ago I was mowing my 5 acres here with a 6 ft wide finish mower behind a John Deere 850 . . . using straight . . . normal blades.

10 or so years ago I graduated to a 60 inch cut, Kubota diesel zero turn. Again I used normal blades.

This year for financial reasons . . . I took over the mowing at our church and did not like the appearance of the lawn after mowing it. Too much long green laying on top . . . began to look like a hay field that needed raked and baled.

Needed new blades . . . so instead of going to the Kubota shop and paying 35 bucks each for 3 blades . . . I did the Ebay shopping thing . . . and found what is called "mulch" blades . . . and 3 of them . . . for less than 60 bucks delivered.

Fast forward to yesterday . . . I will probably never have anything from now on besides the mulch blades.

They cut anything I throw them in to . . . including some 10 inch tall stuff . . . and they do a pretty good job of not only cutting . . . but cutting up the cuttings.

If you've never tried em . . . and want a better looking lawn when you get done . . . ya may want to give em a try.

    May God bless,
    Dwight

I have always wondered if those "Gator" blades were worth it, or just hype.

            Thanks, MoreAmmo . . . I've been running about a new set of blades every year . . . doing my 5 acres and the church's 1 + . . .

Never had great fortune re-sharpening them . . . guess I just don't "have the touch"

            May God bless,

Their Fathers Day 20% off just ended. They'll probably have a 4th of July sale. I'll post it if they do.
