Isnt getting old fun?

One of the blockages was very long. So the Dr placed two stents , nose to tail, in the artery. But he left a very tiny gap between the 2 ends of the stents. This is where the clots formed. He had to go back in and place the 3rd stent inside the original two to bridge this gap. I’m not sure if this constitutes a mistake on his part or just bad luck on my part. Anyway, I’m feeling fine now.

I’ve seen articles outlining the insane amounts of $ spent on health care for seniors. I never believed in those published numbers. But now I’m seeing this first hand. Two new knees, one new shoulder, and now stents. The costs are crazy. I was a healthy guy and went years without ever seeing a doctor. But things are sure different now.

Doing fine. Off light duty now. Start cardiac rehab in a few weeks when they get an opening.

When I broke my ankle a few years back, I paid that out-of-pocket. That was close to $40K.

But on the upside, had I been on obamacare, I would have saved a bit when I broke my ankle, but 10 years of $1000+ per month premiums would have been over $120K! So in the end, I still came out more than $80K ahead.

(I am on obamacare now only because I am getting to the age where shit starts getting REALLY expensive.)

I commented this earlier, No shit, eh, just had cataract and glaucoma surgery on both eyes, $40G a piece, for 15 minutes work per eye. I only had to pay $1050 per eye. Best money I ever have or ever will spend. Just putting out there for all to see. No pun intended. What the hell, still funny shit.

I've found that its hard to find a doctor that really knows something, had one years ago close to my age that knew things right off the top of his head. Now the GP wants to send you to this DR. and that for further examination. I 'm not sure if they care about my health for real or not, $$$$. They find some little nodule somewhere and want a consultation with a specialist who after you make a day of it to see him says, no big deal, see you in a year for a re-check.

They don't care about you or your health really, they only care about not getting sued and what high end car they can buy with your money. What a scam. First you see the general who then sends you down the line of specialists, each of whom gets a piece of your bank account while putting you through a litany of tests, 3 quarters of which are probably not necessary. Everyone gets paid and everyone will want to see you back next year. I am almost ready to put doctors in the same leaky boat put to sea in shark infested waters as lawyers, politicians, and insurance agents.
