    This day in history.

A couple interesting this happened on June 11th.

1955 Le Mans racing disaster. Deadliest wreck in motorsports history. 83 killed and 130-ish more injured.

1962 Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers escaped from Alcatraz. T-Man's non-qualified opinion, I bet they made it across the bay.

2001 Timothy McVeigh was executed for the OKC bombing.

John Wayne also died today in 1979. I remember exactly where I was when I saw the headline.

"I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery."
    - Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison, January 30, 1787

The list I looked at this morning did not mention that. Back in 2014 or 2015, I was a chaperone on T-Son 1066's 8th grade class field trip to Springfield. We actually got to tour the house he raised most of his kids in.

Nice job Sas, you beat the hellinois guy on hellinois history!

My old man, returned from Germany post WW2 , left the Army and went to work for IBM from the late 1950's until his retirement. I don't remember him ever owning a Ford, but I've had 2 F150's plus my current F250 Super Duty!

Rest in peace Dad, Mom hasn't had to worry about money or security since you died!
