There's also this. Conservative Sonja Shaw advances to CA state school Superintendent run-off.

Illinois has been solid blue since it voted Clinton in office. (That figures somehow) Before then it was a swing state I believe, but it leaned Republican. Chicago has always been a democrat strong hold and these days it rules the roost with it's population density. I read the last republican Mayor was 1931.

Funny ,on my last business trip to Chicago it was evident from the moment we got into the cab we were in hostile territory. Me and my cohorts argued politics all the way to our downtown hotel. The cabbie was pissed, I thought he was going to throw our Texas butts out of the cab. How Ironic was it that we were staying at The River Hotel right across from Trump International Hotel Tower? I laughed my ass off.
