As I have watched the news coverage of this whole mess today a couple thoughts have been reoccurring over and over...
Some "news" commenters have been complaining about the Secret Service not catching the guy quicker. I'm not sure what the Secret Service could have done better in this situation. They caught the guy. Nobody was seriously injured. The president and guests were never in immediate danger since the guy was stopped well before he got into the ballroom. Plus, they took the guy alive so now we might learn more about anybody that may have helped him or encouraged him. To me, the whole thing seems like it was done textbook perfect.
The second complaint I have heard repeated ad nauseam today was about how the bad guy sent his "manifesto" to his brother and the brother sent it to the FBI before the event. Why didn't the FBI "do something"? Again, I really do not see a problem here. We all complain (rightfully so in my arrogant opinion) about an encroaching police state. Writing a manifesto is not illegal no matter how vile it is. It is not a reason for the FBI to act other than to maybe notify the Secret Service about a potential problem. But I am pretty sure if any of us were collected and questioned by the FBI for the incendiary things we all have written here, we would all be rightfully pissed. So again, I do not see a problem with how this part was handled.
Bad people do bad things. When good people stop them, bad outcomes are minimized or even eliminated as in this case. Sometimes bad people succeed in doing bad things and unfortunately that is the price we pay for freedom. (It is also why good people should be armed at all times.)
In this incident, we should all just thank God that good people prevailed.
They'll probably give him "House Arrest" with a useless ankle monitor after the trial by a libitard Judge. They're making that SOB who murdered that Healthcare CEO into a folk hero, complete with a "Go Fund Me" account. WTF is the matter with some people?
Your mention of the ankle monitor reminded me. So I have a cousin, about 7 years younger than me. He has always been a hell raiser, didn't have alot of love from the family, but always got along well with me because I treated him like a human, not a piece of shit. Ex MMA fighter, in and out of prison ALOT. So about 12 years ago, he calls me. "Hey, you still got the machine shop out there?" Yep I says. "Got a favor to ask. If I come over, can you help me cut off my ankle monitor? I gotta go find the X wife and have a talkin' to with her." She is one of 3 people with a restraining order against him. I Says Ben, who is the most important person in your life right now? "My ex and my kids." I says nope, its your PO. What does he say? "No contact, don't cut the ankle monitor off or back the the clink".
Can't help you bud... sorry.
I have since dis-owned him after he attempted murder on the new GF by strangulation.
Reports out this AM that the FBI identified a group of 23 or more that were planning to use explosive laden drones and snipers to target the UFC250 event at the WH. Looks like the crazy no billionaires / free palestine crazies AGAIN!!
