Interesting, meat chicken shroom season must be close to cheddarhead season, I think I need to take a stroll through the woods.

Yes very tasty. Texture like chicken slice thin fry in butter. Supposedly we have hen of the woods also but we haven't found those yet. We are getting tons of yellow oyster mushrooms in the last few years those are delicious.

I've seen those all over the place! They're safe to eat? I don't know shrooms from a hole in the ground, green horn here.

Chicken and hen of the woods are safe for most people. Cook well and eat a small amount at first. Some people has a gastrointestinal issue with them especially is not cooked well.

We have no issues eating morels, yellow oyster, pheasant back and chicken of the woods.

Found some baby chickens on a stump this AM, already had 1/2 of it bagged when I took the picture.

Never had these type of shrooms so tender. Cooked it up with a bird chicken, peppers and onions. Put some cooked rice on top, then added some cheese.
