    Tornado at deer camp

Yup tornado went thru the area and took out my camper at deer camp.
One of our permanent deer blinds was destroyed. One 40 acre section we lost about 40 or so trees.
This weather has been out of control. I think we are up to 11 tornadoes since January 2026.

We were suppose to be there hunting morals but I had a dentist appointment that I decided not to cancel. Yeah would have been a bitch climbing out of that thing since it laying on its doors.

Wow. How far away is that from where you're living?
Did the tornado come close to there at all?
    Damn.

We are an about 90 minutes from camp. We had near miss tornados here as well the same night. Lost power here but no damage.

That is proof right there that Jesus is watching over you! Glad you're OK.

As far as the camper, that will probably buff out real easy!

Lucky you were not there at the time. It's over on it's side but the damage don't look too bad. Is it worth salvaging?

Roof is damaged, camper is now taking in water so water damage, inside damage kitchen counters busted up and much more they should total it. It will have to be removed from the property.

Yes it was insured. Of course now the headaches of dealing with insurance nightmares jumping thru painful hoops is the worst of it. But worse than that is I have no place to go for the near future and that sucks really bad since I still dont have a freaking house.

          Shoot me now will ya!

That was your main residence? I assumed it was just a weekend hide-away for you.

No I live in one of my daughters dungeon. I sold my house several years ago but are currently priced out of the ridiculous housing market.

My daughter's town (Lomira) in Wisconsin was hit by a tornado day before yesterday. The family is OK, nobody hurt. Huge maple trees didn't fare so well. Many big limbs lost.
I sure don't miss those Wisconsin tornados. They're pretty scare out here in Wyoming, thank God.

            The official sharknado report is
Carson City in Montcalm County, an EF-1 with winds at 110 mph.
So now I know that it takes 110 mph wind to knock a camper over.

I just had a bunch of facia and soffit metal replaced that blew off in 90 mph gentle breeze we had at the beginning of March.

I have for years been left trying to decide who among the three, Lawyers, Insurance agents, or politicians, should be placed first on a very leaky boat in the middle of shark infested waters. After some thought over the years I have concluded that one large leaky boat that will accommodate all of them at once would be the most expedient.

            Hang in there Hawg.

My grandfather was a Baptist minister . . . Mom always laughed at one of his favorite sayings . . . "beware of the doctors, lawyers, and merchants . . . for they are the oppressors of the poor".

Seeing as how the best clue in detective work is "follow the money trail" . . . I'd say grandpa was right . . . my opinion any way . . .

Plus I've always kind figured there is a special place in the hereafter for lawyers and judges . . . rhymes with swell

Glad to see nobody hurt or worse damage.

Maybe the blowdowns will provide some firewood and open things up to attract more deer?

Yup we will be cutting firewood on that 40 acre parcel for several years.

Yep, this spring has been pretty rough. Every day this week except one we have had either severe thunderstorm warnings, tornado warnings, or flood warnings. Been low 80's, but after tonights storms, we are in the 50's for the weekend, waking up to 25 Monday morning, then back to 80's by Tuesday afternoon.

Typical midwest weather. Don't like it, wait about 20 minutes...
