The stuff similar at Tractor Supply is quite pricy for the same size and made in China. Their stock tanks are expensive too.
The beds I have are made of 2x4s and cedar fence pickets. One is made of 2x4s and 12"x12' fiber cement siding.

I ordered my galvanized raised beds from scamazon. I know, i know! Chinese shit! But they were all between $30 to $35 and were delivered in less than a week. The metal isn’t very thick, but a friend bought these maybe 4 or 5 years ago and they are holding up fairly well. Some rust, but not too bad considering the price. Some were advertised as made in America, but turns out it was just an American company selling the same chinese product as everyone else. I’m 75 so I figured these beds will outlast me or at least last until i am too old to garden. But if you are looking to build something to last 20 years, these are definately NOT IT.

I’ve seen molds advertised for making your own interlocking concrete segments to build raised beds. That looks like an interesting idea to build beds that should last a lifetime. Something I would definately consider for a long term garden bed.

I'm old enough to be forced to do my gardening in big clay pots. I used to love gardening and had a big one in my backyard. That is now used for parking my trailers.
My hope is to get a few tomatoes and some peppers.

I finally got the last of my raised beds replaced. But my seed starts are doing very poorly. Most germinated but now they are just sitting there and not thriving. It’s getting late so I guess i will just be buying a lot of my plants from the local greenhouses. No big deal but i really like San marzano tomatoes and Toro sweet peppers, both of which are not available from the local growers. But growing something/anything is better that growing nothing.

I'm in no big rush to get my pots planted, it's 30 degrees and snowing right now. Dammit!

Ok, need help. As I stated, I had good germination of my seeds but once started my plants got maybe 1 inch tall and stalled. They are getting plenty if light but just sitting there and not growing. For years I have started seeds in JIFFY peat plugs, usually bought at walmart. Then transplanted the sprouted plugs into small pots filled with potting soil. The only thing different this year from other years is the latest batch of JIFFY plugs. So next year I will ditch the JIFFY peat plugs and try sprouting in my own starting soil mix. So, any recommendations for a recipe for seed starting soil mix?
