    Pond Update 2026

I'm going to continue updating as our pond is going on 4 years old this July/August. Our dam was built a bit too steep. County Soil and Water suggested to us to rock the dam. That was 2 years ago. Too much going on to start but finally starting this year. These are pics of out last rain that filled it up on March 7. We also lost over 3 dozen large bluegill this year I believe due to stress and possible over population. We didn't take any out last year as we were to busy to fish. These pics will give you an idea of where were at now. I would have loved to get pics around midnight that night. Just to see the difference on how much water was coming out of the overflow pipe. So far I have only seen it half full at the pond but exiting was a crazy amount of water.

Your correct its totally full. When he set the overflow pipe it was 3" higher. He told me I could cut it off. I decided to leave it so now when its completely full its over the bank a bit on the right hand side. We have some rain coming tonight and tomorrow. Not a lot but it will still be over the bank for a few days. I will try to get more pics of the start of our rock work soon.

these pics we're taken this evening. After highs in the mid 70s on Sunday our temperature just continued to drop. What started out as flurries ended up with somewhere between 2-3" of snow.

Your pond is starting to look like it's always been there.

Yes it sure has made a difference in the last couple of years. We will be glad once we get this rock on the dam. I not sure how long it will take but we only work on it on the weekends when I have extra help.

It was a crazy day. Temperature started off in the 50's then it dropped into the afternoon when it started to snow. It was a really wet snow and I went outside to do a couple of things and it wasn't the kind of cold that goes straight to your bones. Todays high was almost 89 and tomorrows high is in the mid 40's
