In Wanted: Dead or Alive (1958–1961), Steve McQueen's character, bounty hunter Josh Randall, carried a heavily customized, sawed-off Winchester Model 1892 lever-action rifle famously dubbed the "Mare's Leg". It remains one of the most iconic firearms in television history
Design: The rifle was custom-designed by legendary Hollywood armorer Kenneth "Von Dutch" Howard. It featured a barrel chopped down to roughly 9 inches and a shortened buttstock, allowing McQueen to wear it in a quick-draw leg holster and fire it with one hand.
