The video below is talking about a state bill that will make it illegal to buy / sell / possess ammunition that is not serialized, case and projectile!
I am not as knowledgeable about reloading as alot of you, but at my past employer's shop we built a high speed machine to press primers into cartridges, and another customer had us build a machine to assemble the projectile. IIRC that was for Xtreme Shock ammo.
As the guy in the video explains it, they want to have matching serial numbers on the casing and the projectile. Based on my experience with that machinery, there would be no way to add that mechanism to serialize the cartridge and the projectile into existing machinery, especially at current rates of production. It would be completely new designed machinery from the ground up.
Other issue stupid ass gun grabber politicians aren't smart enough to figure out, is that the projectile would almost certainly be destroyed enough to make it unreadable.
