The video below is talking about a state bill that will make it illegal to buy / sell / possess ammunition that is not serialized, case and projectile!

I am not as knowledgeable about reloading as alot of you, but at my past employer's shop we built a high speed machine to press primers into cartridges, and another customer had us build a machine to assemble the projectile. IIRC that was for Xtreme Shock ammo.

As the guy in the video explains it, they want to have matching serial numbers on the casing and the projectile. Based on my experience with that machinery, there would be no way to add that mechanism to serialize the cartridge and the projectile into existing machinery, especially at current rates of production. It would be completely new designed machinery from the ground up.

Other issue stupid ass gun grabber politicians aren't smart enough to figure out, is that the projectile would almost certainly be destroyed enough to make it unreadable.

This should be interesting to see if this becomes law. Thought I read somewhere that a few other states were trying this as well.

WS, I'm not the world's biggest gun guy by any means, but can you explain how Springfield Armory plays into this?

For years the Democrats wouldn't pass any major gun control bills even though they had a super majority, then along came the gun dealer licensing bill. It was close as to whether or not it was going to make it or not. Along comes Dennis Reese who got together with the head of Rock RIver Arms and a lobbyist. They formed a little company to lobby on behalf of the two companies down in Springfield. Both Dennis and the Rock River asshole claim they had no idea what the lobbyist was doing in their name even though it was a whopping three person company and they were paying the bills, but the lobbyist cut a back room deal that Springfield and Rock River would not oppose the bill if they got a cut out that exempted them.

That tipped the balance, the bill passed, and the Democrats discovered that there they didn't get voted out of office when passing heavy hitting gun control. After that it was full speed ahead, damn the witness slips that could be erased in a heartbeat by moving the bill to a new shell.

When the news broke about what Springfield and Rock River had done, Springfield tried to do some damage control by firing the lobbyist and putting up little counter signs in gun shops saying they opposed the bill. Rock River just went on a radio show and cussed out the public.

Every gun control bill passed since the dealer licensing debacle all traces back to Dennis Reese.

Fuck that guy.
