Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp

Not gonna lie, it is cool looking. My EDC is the S&W Shield and although I never had any issues with it it is smoother once worked in. Of course mine is CA compliant because we can't have nice things in CA 🤣. We can't have porting because it's scary. Glad it's working out for you though.

For years my main go to carry has been a S&W performance center 9mm shield and it has gone bang every time. Can't go wrong with a S&W.

Finally got a chance to run the Bodyguard through it's final tests. I ran about 70 rounds of hollow points through it yesterday with zero problems so I consider it fully trustworthy now. The one issue I may have run into is that I took my wife with on this trip and she ran most of those rounds through it. My wife had tried the Bodyguard when we first got it and wasn't all that excited. Now that it has the Hogue grip and is fully broken in I might have to get a new one and start over with the break in process if I intend to have one to use.

Glad things are going good for you Shadow . . . but I'm old school when it comes to pistolas . . . my first rule is if it balks one time . . . I'll look and do my best to see if it is just some anomaly . . .

Second time it balks . . . I've done all I can to make sure it is good . . . and I've failed.

It goes to the LGS with a for sale sign on it . . . and never comes back to my house.

I have 4 1911's . . . a Springfield SA 35 . . . little ugly Shield . . . and an old Ruger . . . LC9(?) . . . I use them for carry guns.

One 1911 had to go to the shop to get "fixed" . . . got a Colt barrel . . . new front bushing . . . and a set or green laser sights.

Everything else shoots anything I throw at em . . . including the ones I roll for em.

I don't fault the gun for the hiccups experienced. I knew going in it was going to be ammo brand picky and that Fiocchi ball was unlikely to run in it, but I had a lot of that so I tried it. The one Magtech round I had a problem with felt like the ammo was the problem - felt very under powered. No repeats with Magtech. Ran a bunch of the PMC bronze no problem. Over two range trips ran almost 100 rounds of the hollow point bullet type I use flawlessly.

Now my range gun only Zastava M57A tokarev is a totally different story. That thing might find itself in the used gun counter pretty soon...

Well, I got my first piece of my ( next ) new Bodyguard. The replacement recoil spring isn't much to look at, but it's a start.

Finally finished running the new Bodyguard through it's paces. Galloway recoil spring and Hogue grip installed at the start ( OD green grip to differentiate from the one the wife took ). 500 reps of locking the slide open and hitting the release to drop it on a snap cap. 500 rounds of ball ammo split 50/50 between Magtech and PMC Bronze. Then 50 rounds of my carry ammo. This one had a single failure to feed on the very first round it tried to pick up on the very first mag. After that no hiccups at all. In the second half of the ammo tests I also switched to loading the mags to their max 12 rounds which is quite tight. No problems. It has officially graduated to carry duty in place of my Glock 42.
