Another new gun that is getting broken in. Picked up a non-safety version of the S&W Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp. Besides the port it has improved sights over the basic version. My thought is to have it eventually take over from my Ruger LCP Custom for pocket holster carry. Longer sight radius, better sights, better trigger, and 12+1 capacity vs the 6+1 on the Ruger.
Out of the box it wasn't dry and it wasn't lubed - it had some sort of tacky gunk in it. Maybe an anti-corrosive? Got that all cleaned out and it's properly lubricated now. Had the known very stiff slide out of the box. Lots of cycling it and storing it locked open has helped.
Probably run about 75 rounds through it so far. Good sights, nice recoil impulse for how tiny it is, do have to be very careful to not pull left with the short pull length. It is oddly picky about ammo. It seems to run Magtech FMJ RN just fine, but won't feed Fiocchi FMJ RN. All of the issues seem to be with feeding. If it feeds, it runs.
I've watched a bunch of videos there are some ammo brands / models it just won't feed. It is going to get a long testing and break in period before I place any trust in it and I definitely won't switch up any carry ammo without a long test run.
The videos did lead me to some reports of occasional problems with the recoil spring ends. Seems like S&W kind of fumbled that part a bit. I replaced the factory spring with a Galloway Precision spring at the OEM rate - problem avoided.
Nothing visually special about mine so I just grabbed a stock photo.
